Hey guys. . . Wednesday is supposed to be Perfect. I was thinking about going to Palestine and putting in at the Sabine River Boat Launch off of Hwy. 31. Any thoughts on if the crappie are moving up the creeks/river a good ways, or do ya reckon they are hanging out at the mouths of the creeks/river? I've never been to Palestine or to the Sabine River launch, so this will be expeditionary.

Sabine don't flow into Palestine..

Neches, Kickapoo, or Flat is what you want.

I heard they were in the creek at 31 west of Chandler. That is Kickapoo

I used to fish the Neches above 31 for white bass regularly. I had only one trip where I caught several crappie, It was never loaded like some creeks I have read about. I don't venture up there these days.
My Father used to fish Hickory creek on the upper end of Texoma ( Oklahoma side) He would flat wear them out,

Well , I got skunked. Pedaled 6 miles. Most of that in 1.5’ of water. Went to the Kickapoo Creek side. Probly should have put in at the Neches ramp. Maybe next time. But what a great day out on the water. It was cold this morning, and didn’t think about sun screen. I look like I was out on the water in July. My face is a deep medium rare.
