As the name suggests I exclusively fish ultra light method. My question is for mainly eating size fish advice on rather l should use bottom or suspended when cut bait fishing? I can’t use the smelly stuff.

Ultralight, search some of Little Wheel's posts. He had spinning rigs on his boat and while they are not ultralight, they are close. He fishes for channel cats and he does use punch bait. You could use the ultralight gear with cut bait. I'd definitely put them on the bottom or float them just off the bottom with a santee rig. But you better hang on. You could get a bigger fish than you expect! Good luck!

call Stubby...git suma his stink bait...i have worn out the channel cat on Murvaul with it...water will warm up and i'll do it again...i put a hole punch n the anal fin and throw'm back...i've caught 2 twice and a few that weren't even hooked...i had to open their mouth to get the hook out, i thought...nope...the bait fell out...cat wasn't even hooked...

Sorry Charlie! Family won’t allow me to use the stinking stuff after a bad incident when I lived and fished here several years ago. Guess I limited to Corn, Slim Jim and cut bait.

Stubby’s doesn’t stink. Smells good enough to eat it on your sandwich! Lol

my Dad was a custom wheat harvester...we always had a barrel of soured wheat brewing...we'd put it n a towsak [old type potato sack] with a heavy rock and sink it...the liquid part looked like calf slobber...real real real stinky

soured wheat I've had covered up since beginning of last summer...if u didn't add water, it mite not be what u expect

i caught a 3 1/2 lb cat ystrdy on Stubby's...they're not really biting hard...just a light nibble and didn't fight much...toooooo cold

My two cents here. Use range cubes for chum since they don’t smell bad. Use Stubby’s Cheesebait since it is not very offensive either. All rods in my boat are medium light. Several thousand eaters are caught from my boat every year. Pretty good combination and customer support from Stubby(my best friend and who I learned from) or myself. We both spend lots of time on the phone with people and strive to help the guys that do our kind of fishing become better. I believe there are several on here that will agree. We are here to help.

Thanks, I would guess Johnson feed around the neighborhood here would have the Range Cubes you suggested.
