Got a new 32G micro SD card with adapter to download all my waypoints from my LCX-27c
For some reason I cant get it to recognize the card. It finds the mapping card just fine in either of the two slots.
What the heck am i doing wrong?

32gb is too large for those older units. They require a card that is 1gb or smaller. I had an even older unit that would not recognize a card larger than 512mb.

Did you format the card to Fat 32?
LCX-27c MMC/SD card : Max Size
Two MMC/SD Digital Card slot: Up to 2GB.

What software are you using to transfer your old Lowrance waypoints to your newer up to day Lowrance? I believe he is trying to back up his data from the unit itself. Unfortunately, those older units do not recognize high capacity cards. When that unit first came out, it could only recognize a card 1gb or smaller. When the manual was written for this model it only mentions using up to 1 gb cards. Like Larry Hutchens mentioned, that may have gone up to 2gb with later releases of that model but it never could read anything larger. Just to be safe, I would just get a card that is 1gb or smaller. That would ensure his unit could read the card and like Larry also mentioned the card should be formatted as fat32. This would give him the best compatibility.

Have to use a 1gb micro card in a adapter card on the old LCX units. Then take the micro out and put them into the newer HDS/Carbon units. Easy to do, but finding a 1gb card is harder than you think on a shelf instead of ordering it.

There is another possible option. You could take the 32gb card and use some Partition Software and create a partition that is less than 1gb and set the other 31gb to unallocated then format the 1gb partition as fat32. The unit “should” then recognize the card as a 1gb card. Once all the info has been saved to the card and saved to the computer, the card can then be repartitioned as a 32gb card so you can use it again for other things. There are several free programs that can do Partitioning.

You just went way over my head on that It's super easy and I would have walked you through it on the phone but I don't think it's going to work. It's what I have done on some of my cameras and other electronics that won't recognize some of my higher capacity cards. It looks like you may just have to get a card 1gb or smaller. I have an old 640C laying around which I think may be older than your unit and I tried partitioning a 64gb card down to 128mb using every different format but it wouldn't recognize the card no matter what size or format I used. If that would have worked, it would have saved you from having to buy another card.

1GB card might require FAT Format, FAT-32 required > 4GB.
