I actually gained a lot more respect for JonB after watching this. Not many people would’ve released that fish. Really showed he cares more about the lake/resource than himself.

You are a Hero in my book. This^^^^ and didn’t haul her around the lake for hours on end. Seemed like a quick release and dint stress her out. Lots of respect for that and wish more would practice that.

You can tell by the way he handled the fish that he really loves the sport. The fact he released her was very cool. Much respect to that young man!

a fish of a life time and after watching this video, it has me on the fence about what I would do if I ever crack the DD mark and it be over 13 pounds.

It was a heck of a fish for sure. Congrats to Jon on that fish and releasing her. No doubt he could have gotten way more mileage out of that fish not only for himself but also the Googan brand had he donated it.
Alot of people may not know it but that young man he was fishing with has a 13 pounder to his credit as well. Pretty sure he broke the LBJ record when he was 13 years old.

You are a Hero in my book. Are you aware they've been doing genetic testing on these giants being caught lately and many of them are ShareLunker offspring? It's mind boggling to me folks are still in denial about the benefits to our fisheries being driven out of Athens.
