I enjoyed night fishing with James Henderson. He is a great guy.

James Caldemeyer is really good and if you like to fish @ night, hard to beat Randy Oldfield.

I fished a few tourneys with his SIL a decade or so, he gripped too. roflmao

All just so I could listen to good ol' days stories about true giants from the lake when it was great

That’s a pretty good list there.
I’d add…
Mark Pack
Brian Duplechain
Johnny Glass

Those are who I’d consider more of Legends out there than guides.

Surprised no one has listed Lance Vick yet. One of the best out there and has been for many years.

Since this is a lake Fork thread, I’m curious if anyone remembers a guide named Randy Bennett, went by “Bassin’ with Bennett”. We went out with him 20 something years ago and haven’t seen any info on him for years, just curious what happened to him.

I heard there was an older dude that used to guide, his first name was Ken something. He was the bomb back in the day. Heard he like to go fast. Bet he could still show out, but that's only a rumor. noidea

I've had a fishing lodge here on Fork since '93. Most of the guides that I would recommend are old dudes or are retired. (We are a VRBO now so we don't connect customers with guides anymore). I could tell you back in the day who could catch'm and who was a "salesman/lied a lot". I've had guides come back to the lodge or post online how they slayed 'em, only to talk to the customer who said it sucked. With that said, here are the guys that were legit back in the day.
Most don't guide anymore. Point of my post is do your homework.

I am talking about a top 10 that one could book today. I am thinking mixing legends with new and up and comers. It's more about the experience than catching fish. And about diversity in the guides and their personalities

It would be cool to compile a list and book those 10 trips in a year. Then possibly blog or vlog the experience.

So far (in particular order)

Brian Duplechain
Andrew Grills
Jason Hoffman
Mark Stevenson
Lance Vick
Gary Paris
Jack York
Tony Clark
Zach Hughes

I may have to mix in a trip on Palestine and Lake O' the Pines as well
