I want a all around do it all rod. My favorite techniques are wacky, trigs and flipping jigs in cover. I fish in a small 10ft boat and usually only carry two rods 1 spinning and 1 casting so I want it to be a all purpose rod. Thoughts?

IF the “4” power in the Xtasy lineup is the same power as the Champion XP lineup then absolutely the 724. I haven’t handled the Xtasy line as it’s to expensive for my “retired firefighter income” 🤔🤪🙄 but I have several 734 Campion rods and they are my favorite “do all” rods. All but the larger(10”-12”) worms, all but larger(1oz +) jigs, chatter baits, buzz baits, spinner baits, senko’s, small/medium swimbaits……almost everything with the “4” power for me. Says “Heavy” but it’s more “med/heavy”.

I have an Xtasy 723 and use it for weightless soft plastics. I also have several GLX 843s and 844s jwrs as well as an NRX 853 and 854 jwr. The Loomis rods are definitely "heavier" in a 3 vs an Xtasy 3. I find I use my '4" power Loomis rods as my more all arounds especially for jigs. When I bought my Xtasy I actually had the chance to talk to Gary at his shop and he said he wouldn't throw a 7" senko on the 3 power Xtasy for example but would stay with smaller baits. Long story short, I would go with the 5 power Xtasy if you are looking for a one rod to do it all. Also, if you go out to sulphur springs HQ to get your rod there is a chance you can talk to Gary himself and get his opinion before you buy.....

Personally, I would go 5 power for an all around rod in my experience with Dobyns rods.

I've got both and if I could only have 1 I'd want the 5.
