Went to Holbrook lake on Sunday and was the first boat on the water. About 30 minutes after we arrived a second boat launches and begins to head in our direction, this fine individual pulled about 3 docks in front of us and just flat cut us off. We are the only 2 boats on the lake and this happens. I myself try to give everyone plenty of space and NEVER cut another angler off like that. There is just no etiquette with most of these anglers any more. Am I just being over sensitive ??? He had the whole dang lake and could have picked any other spot to fish on the entire lake.

I'd have just idled up to him and said what you just typed in a very polite way. If he took an attitude or acted like an [censored] about it, he'd get to practice changing trailer tire(s) when he finished up his fishing trip. The (s) would be determined how he responded.

So you would vandalize someone's trailer if they took an attitude? ^^^

Hmmm ...Definitely not alpha...

Unfortunately this is the world we live in and it’s not gonna get any better. Back in the day if that happened to me it’s a good chance that me and him woulda ended up in the same boat together or in the water. Too damn old for that now but some of you young guy’s could make a person think twice before they cut someone off again. My Pop’s always said a good ol fashioned country azz whoopin can go a long way!

Damaging his truck or trailer would have been vandalism. Letting the air out of the trailer tire is just teaching an IDIOT a lesson so maybe he will learn to respect others the next time he is on the water. Apparently he never learned to respect others while growing up.
Its never too late to learn a good lesson.

Had a guy crappie fishing do that to me a few months ago. I caught about a 4 pounder, PP down to re rig and he came around me and spotlocked in 4 foot of water 15 foot off my trolling motor. Close enough I could hear him drag his cigarette. He asked how I was doing, told him would be better if he hadn't just cut me off close enough to jump in his boat. He commenced to MF me and tell me I don't own the lake he been fishing that spot for 25 years. I laughed at him and said "yeah and I'm the one acting like I own the lake you old bastard" just put it on high and went around him before one of us went swimming.

People have zero etiquette anymore...it's gotten ridiculous.

In my younger days I would’ve lectured him firmly and see where it went. Now that I’m older I actually will get close enough and be cordial and make a new friend. Many times people don’t know they’re doing stupid things. Perhaps that’s God’s way of sending you a new friend.

The guy wasn't rude,,,he was being a jerk.

If no one confronts him and puts him in his place,,,,,, he will continue being a jerk.

Some people just don't have a clue, a lot of people don't care. It's the same siutation if you park your car at the end of the parking lot, or sit at a table far away from everyone...someone will show up and go right next to you. Guarantee it.

Don’t let it ruin your day. There is a whole lake to fish. Recognize that he is a A hole and move on to somewhere else. World is full of them.

Fishspanker has it correct but this thread is further proof of the deterioration of our society.

Doing this is exactly why he will continue to be a jerk to anyone on the water, and this reasoning is exactly why the world is full of them. He knows with a little lip, some people will just move on and he gets what he wants,........ Are you a man or a mouse???

You were already fishing that spot, he can go fish the rest of the lake.

I had this exact thing happen to me and my two kids this summer out there. First on the water, was teaching my 8 and 10 yr olds how to use a bait caster. First cast bird nest and while I’m digging it out, here comes Gilligan and Skipper launching their boat and head straight to cut us off. Wouldn’t surprise me if it was the same guy and the same docks.
