Hey blueduck, went there the first week of January for three days. Falcon is incredibly low right now. I believe it's about 42 feet down and at about 23% capacity. Only one or two main creeks left with ANY water in them. They should be in mid spawn or near at that time, but just be aware. We caught a few decent fish, two 7 + fish but it was pretty tough fishing. Didn't help that a cold front came in the day we got there. May want to consider Choke Canyon if Falcon craps out on you. Good luck!

Fivebites, thanks for the suggestions concerning going over to Choke. We’ll be in Zapata for a week on vacation so we’ll be all over the lake. Later,

Odds of a guide down there seeing your post and responding on TFF are pretty slim I would think. James and Tommy at Falcon Lake Tackle have a list of a few on their website with contact information. Link below

John Adami’s customers catch some bigguns’. I’ll see if I can find his contact info, he’d be worth taking out. At least give him a call and see what he says, seems like a good guy.

Get a hold of Adami and go fish Sugar lake in Mexico. That’s what I would do.

The information you need to contact MATT REED is on the FALCON LAKE TACKLE website. You might consider him if he is available on those dates. There aren't allot of guides here at the present time, but Matt is as active as any I have run into on the lake this Fall and Winter. He is also someone that works hard to make smiles.

You wouldn't recognize it right now Okie. Crazy how low it is. I've only been 3 times. It was 24 feet low last year and almost all of the major creeks had a decent amount of water in them. This year 43 feet low and Tigers (we didn't go above the county ramp) is about the only creek with any water left in it. But even with a major cold front and howling wind we still caught two over 7 in 2 and a half days. And I got a ton of stuff marked when the lake comes back up....hopefully!
