No his son started in the BFL's and Toyota series, to qualify for the Pro Circuit you have to finish top of a Toyota series division. MLF Toyota series is an Open like the BASS Opens, anyone can pay entry fee and fish those. MLF ladder system of tournaments is right on the front page of their website on the left side of page, its not hard to understand people just like to hate Duckett. Duckett's crew made a bunch of tactical PR mistakes when they grew MLF in 2018 and they are paying for them years later and will continue to.

I saw someone mention a live stream today so I tuned in for about 10 minutes. I dont usually watch any professional fishing but I feel like I know most of the big names. With that being said I had no clue who any of them people were. Tried watching the live stream from the Classic this past year and it felt the same way. I probably knew 10 names in that entire field. Seems like the super stars are spread to thin between the different tournament trails now.

I think triple a is a pretty good analogy. There’s some damn good ball players in triple a. Some will continue on and have great careers at the next level, and some that will finish their careers there. They’ve still accomplished more than the vast majority of the critics and the fans alike.

At the "minor league" levels, the days of the same couple dozen guys always making up the top 10 are over.
Technology, gear, and the popularity of competitive fishing has resulted in a great leveling of the field.
There are lots of "never been heard of" Texas anglers for example that could win a professional tournament on any given day.
Similar situation going on in the lower level tours in professional golf.

Like the PGA, the top level professional fishing circuits would do well to establish and maintain very stringent qualifying requirements.
If you don't qualify from the past years performance, you're out. Top finishers from the "minor league" circuits get in.

"Major League Fishing" (kind of unfortunate choice of names) is comprised of several "minor league" circuits that pave the way for an angler to get into the top level.
They muddy the water in my opinion when they allow (encourage?) top level pros to fish the lower levels.
Maybe it's due to not enough of the highest level events or enough payout.

I enjoyed watching the event on Rayburn when I had time. Lots of great anglers in the Pro Circuit. I hate the weights being reset to zero on the final day though. I get why MLF wants to do it, but I still don't like it.

I want to watch a couple tournaments and see how they play out with the new format. I like that it creates some excitement on the final day, but you kinda punish someone for all their hard work the first 3 days.

I agree but technically the guy on the best stuff should still win. I don't like it overall though but I'm not at the mercy of lord Duckett either

Its a ladder system just like racing, Nascar Cup drivers still run Busch and Truck series events, I see it no different.

Don't like the zero either, didn't like it back when FLW used to do it. Its logical to do it for Bass pro tour where there are two groups fishing different days but in golf they don't reset the score on Sunday, just stupid. I'm glad Michael Neal would have won the event whether they zeroed or not.

You don’t really offend anyone but just from watching and laughing all the time I just have to reply. You ask for everything you get answer wise and that’s literally. You wanna talk and stir the pot but don’t want the repercussion from it. Honestly what you post is just funny and leads me to believe you have nothing better to do with life. I’ve never seen you on a pro tour so my question is are you that fat guy who tells the quarterback you can do his job or are you actually curious about the field? If so do some research. Everyone has to start somewhere so there will be a lot of new faces. You’ll have to just get with the times I guess.

Sorry I upset you by asking the question. I explained what I meant. Not gonna do it again. SMH

It changes the dynamic. They definitely can't burn through all their fish.

I can promise you have never upset me. You’re always good for a laugh at some time of day. roflmao
My response was to tell you you do not anger or upset anyone. For instance I just laughed reading your reply to me.
