The one with three tag ends. Have no idea what it is called but I have never had it fail. That is either the double Pitzen or the double San Diego Jam knot depending on which one you tie. The two are very similar and both have 3 tag ends. Go to Netknots and you will find them there.

Double Palomar works on flouro & braid.. How do you tie a double palomar? It already has two lines going through the eyelet.

Cool link but I don't think the double san diego jam knot was tied correctly The double line should not have stopped at the eyelet, it should have gone back to the loop at the top to create 3 tag ends. The one that they call a 3 tag knot is really called the double Pitzen.

Palomar on everything from 20lb to 8 lb. When I first started tying it (long ago) I had a lot of break offs. This was around the time that floro was just becoming popular. Now I am having no problems. There was a tip I read somewhere back when that when you inserted the double line through the hook eye and tied your overhand portion of the knot and looped it around the lure and began to draw it down and are getting a sort of figure 8 configuration of double line above the hook eye that you should grab the bottom part of that figure 8 and flip it over to the top of the knot and then draw it down and tighten it. As I tighten it I pull alternately on the main and tag ends of the line until it is snug. Has worked for me for many years.

San Diego Jam / Double San Diego Jam for most things. For T-rig, Snell Knot.
