Yes, No, Maybe...
Yes - It looks like they are substantially done.
No - SOME are posting That they found more damage and are going to take longer or lower the lake more (with no evidence or support from official word).
Maybe - SRA specifically stated end of January but also stated they are trying to get more concrete and need a couple of more weeks into February.
Anyway, they aren't letting the bottom out 0f the lake with any rain we have, so I think that speaks volumes.

I find it funny that with a little water drop, people are freaking out like the lake is drying up. Just about every lake out here on the west side, has that same cycle every year or couple of years. Bad part is that it probably wont be low enough long enough for any thing to grow on the bare banks. You would get some benefit from that.

As I said on Facebook, Fork is not like those Highland reservoirs that have high bluffs and narrower bodies. It can't handle a 10'+ draw down like they can. However, being down would have some benefit, I agree. But I like the lake being full too. But to be honest, I am in the minority here, I know. I like being able to navigate into the creeks with visual clues and lest ping-ponging off the non-visible timber!

You would think they are gonna drain it and pave it the way people are acting on there.

It's all the blue hairs that are spreading the panic and they are the same people who have mostly lead to the grass being sprayed. They complain to the SRA they have too much grass around their docks and their little entitles can't swim and frolic.

The same ones that refer to it as "our (their) lake"... There was one guy who said he's lived there for 25 years and never seen it this low. Hell, I've only lived here for 10 years and I've seen it lower.

At least they found the money and are fixing the problem, imagine the stink if the dam failed and the drain was more of an emergency situation.

There was one guy who said he's lived there for 25 years and never seen it this low. Hell, I've only lived here for 10 years and I've seen it lower. That reminds me of my neighbor who was explaining to me that if the lake (Bob Sandlin) was 2' low on the south end, that meant it was 3-4' low on the north end because the water is deeper. I tried to explain to him that if the lake was 2' low, that meant the entire lake was 2' low ... with water being a flat surface and all. I finally gave up.
The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach
