I live on a lake in a cove that duck hunters access. A few times a year we get a loud duck boat. A few times a year I'm sleeping in and get woken up by shotguns. It's all part of sharing a public resource. Whenever we are headed down to the dock and there are fishermen around, we always talk to them. You can tell some of them are expecting a bad reaction when they see you walking up and are surprised when you ask them how the fish are biting.
Jet skiers irritate most anglers. Apparently, duck hunters irritate some anglers. We all just need to try and be a little more understanding of others who have the same rights as we do to our lakes.
The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach

Cut the breast out, soak for a while in milk, rinse, rub a little olive oil on it, salt and pepper, heat butter in a cast iron skillet, sear duck for a couple minutes each side until still red and cool in the center. You are welcome.

Can someone change the title from Choke Canyon Cormorants to Choke Canyon Duck Hunters? I was wondering how a thread about water turkeys went on for 7 pages. Thought I was about to learn something about them that I didn't already know.

Is this a good thread to complain about deer hunters littering the highways with feed sacks?
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it !
