Here's some real weather for you, notice our high temps compared to your forecast. Snow may limit our trapping though. Cold gets stuff moving.

We will see. I don't buy that model. Maybe where you area hop but I doubt we will see that in DFW.
**We need some rain though. Its dry and the lakes are dropping pretty quick.

Getting accumulating snow and ice in East Texas takes bringing a lot of factors together than don't usually go together here. Our strong cold fronts usually take long enough to drop us below freezing that the moisture is gone by the time it happens. If I had a $20 bill for all the times I have heard, "the Ozarks and Ouachitas dammed up the cold air long enough for the rain to move out" I would be retired right now.
It's like throwing a deck of cards in the air and having them land in A-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-J-Q-K order...all suited. Well, not exactly, but it's something like that.
Typically we have to have the cold air in place, then a new upper level low moves across the area. That or a low in the NW Gulf manages to throw enough moisture over cold air. Of course the counter-clockwise flow around the low can't be too strong at the surface because then we'll get warm air off the Gulf and won't be below freezing...

I don’t get my chimney cleaned until 2/7. I’m kicking myself for not getting it done months ago. With all the wood I’ve burned in the last three years, I was afraid to burn any this year until it gets cleaned, Once I get it cleaned, I’m sure it will stay warm until next year.

Cold is good. Mild is better. Don't mind hot as long as the AC works.

But we were supposed to be freezing this week too...I guess mama changed her mind again.
