I guess it depends on your age and when you’ll need a return but at 38 I’d probably diverse in small/mid cap ETFs and not look at it for 20 years. Or I’d buy land.

Good options. Laugh at the gold- really not a point in it- if it came to that then lead would be a better investment. Really you should always invest the same way that got you where you’re at now. Get out of debt, mutual funds and real estate- super simple and pretty much guaranteed to make a guy wealthy.
And most importantly- a million ain’t what it used to be.

I am debt free so if I came into a sudden million I'd quit working full time, get a part time job just to keep me a little busy and do a whole lot of fishing and hunting.
