Has a single DD been caught there without LS this year? Has JJ ever caught a DD without it?

I'm sure there have been some incidental catches. That is to say, some bigs have been caught that the angler didn't see on the scope, but they were probably casting at another fish or piece of cover they did see on the scope to begin with. These big bass are suspended in 12-60 feet of water for the most part. A lot of the bottom of the lake is covered in brush (sweet cedar). Trying to fish it conventionally would generally be a pain, snag city. Possible? Sure, but not easy.

I believe these big bass have short feeding windows, when you find them at the right time you can do no wrong. It sounds a bit like that might have been the case for these 2 giants Kayden caught (not to take anything away from his incredible catch). Outside of that my experience has been the stars have to align to get these fish to bite. You have to throw the right lure in exactly the right way to have much of a chance. Talking to Josh he's told me several times it is much easier to find big fish than it is to get them to bite. That was certainly my experience with him and certainly my experience trying the technique on my own.

A buddy of mine just wrapped up 4 days of fishing out there... dawn to dusk days... He's an accomplished tournament angler and one of the best fishermen I know, period. They were completely skunked through 3.5 days of fishing. They got to the last two hours of their trip and a feeding window opened and they smacked a series of 6-7s.

I do think fishing pressure plays a role as well. Josh told me when he first started fishing out there last year he was getting roughly 50% of the fish he found to bite. Once the lake started getting pounded it dropped to 1 in 20. When I fished with him it was probably something closer to 1 in 100.

When it happens; it happens quick. What a day for this young man. Congradulations Mr. Tanner. It took me 35 years of fishing before we put together one of those days on Falcon and it was without LS..

So he went to gas station with a 12 lber then put it back in livewell, went back out caught another 12 lber in less than an hour, claims it was 3 casts later and in between he was able to catch multiple other fish.....

Good for him, I'm not a fan of the glam shots, you would think first order of business would be to release the 1st one. I suspect the pic was the goal. It takes a long time and the right conditions to grow those fish and they should be treated with respect.
