My suggestion is this: Buy a 9 MS Slammer around $50 at tackle wharehouse.
I would like to know where to get an MS for $50. TW does not carry them. The best deal I can find on one is used and just under $100. Its a smaller one. Please shoot me some links to the $50 ones. Thanks

Any of you all fish the Working Class Zero Citizens or Battle Shads? I cant talk myself into trying them for the price! wondering if anyone can do that for me! LOL Pulling the Trigger on this guys stuff once he gets my color poured. Not the same, but the tail action was good on this one and a bit more fairly priced https://www.instagram.com/chr.swimbaits/

Hey, James, good to see you on here again. You got me into big swim baits and even though I don't throw them as much as I should,,,,I do still throw them but mostly in the spring. I love it when they smack that thing and then the battle is on. I have had gulls diving down on my Lunker Punkers as I was working them....LOL, funny thing to watch as they get so close to it before they realize that it is not real. EJ - that was a helluva fun day on Monti once we got dialed into the baby bass pattern! I can still see that big-headed old girl blasting that wake jr Yes it was.

Chet, you’re not following the rules of blacking out your fishing spot! Remember you posting this picture a long while back. Didn’t notice the surroundings until now. I recognize that PK cove. Prolly lots of others do too! Nice bloody tailed swimbait fish!

Swimbaits in Texas are like swimbaits anywhere there are Florida strain bass. They will get eaten if presented properly. "Big" swimbaits is a relative term. I have to laugh at some of the baits I see thrown on IG or YT. The stupid things are as big as the average size bass caught in any lake. I guess people believe the bigger the bait the bigger the fish it will catch which may be true in some regards but in my opinion up to a limit. Check out a video if you can find it called "southern trout eaters". Can't remember the dude who made it but its a good watch. BTW anyone interested in hand poured swimbaits give me a shout. Here is some recent work
Just trying to catch em all.

Oliver Nguy from Big Bass Dreams. Has some massive catches in Texas on big baits. They aren't stupid if they work.
Just trying to catch em all.

Have fished the Battle Shad 9.0 and the 7.6. Both bit a lot, no hook ups. Same thing I hate about the Hudd. Had two Citizens that fell apart while rigging them. Going to give them another try. Wouldn't buy another Battle Shad though. Okay,, maye the 7.5. It got bit a looooooot.
Just trying to catch em all.

"Big" is a subjective word. My personal favorite "big swimbait" is the 6" weedless Boom Boom by Optimum. When I bought them I thought there was no way anything less than 8 pounds would eat it but boy was I wrong. To me the bait looks gigantic but to the Bass it must look like a Little Debbie because it gets bit way more than I would have ever dreamed, and by Bass of all sizes. Its pretty much the only "big swimbait" I throw now. Im not joking when I say I have hundreds of them now. I even had to sell some of them last year just so I could consolidate them all in to 2 storage containers........then I found about 20 more packs of them in another storage tub.
My best advice is to pick one or two baits you really like and then get to know those baits. I got to the point I didnt like any of the hooks on the market for the Boom Boom so I started making my own weighted hooks based on the Owner Beast hook. That allowed me to weight the hook in the exact spot I wanted to get the best action out of the bait. The more you throw your bait the more you learn about them.
