So I bought some 17 lb. in blue fluorescent. First Stren that I've purchased since the 90s.
I was fishing some shallow flats yesterday with a senko type bait. Fishing slowly as season and water temp dictated. Caught a lot of fish but the biggest struck the bait so subtly that I did not feel anything.
I did notice the lure seemed to have found some hydrilla to hang up in so I gently lifted the rod.
I could see that glowing line inching toward me, straight on. Knowing that hydrilla is not mobile, I reared back and old fatty was there. 7.14
I am convinced that I would not have been able to see my usual low viz mono in that situation. Stren has a place and time.
Had a friend who fished with 30 stren gold he caught a lot of dd bass. He didn’t fish tournaments but was a trophy fisherman and he had a room full of real fish mounted no replicas. Personally I don’t think line visibility has any effect on bass . Oh he was a line watcher and a good one.
