I downloaded the files (unzipped I believe) to my sd card and when placed in my unit it just says the sd card is encrypted. When I go to the waypoints, tracks, trails it does not show there. Any ideas what I’m doing wrong?

That’s why I always buy the pre-loaded cards so I don’t have to deal with the other issues! Maybe try and reload it?

I had this problem with my Lowrance unit....I had to power the device down...put in the SD card...then power it back on. Then it saw the lane card and allowed me to load it through the menus.

Humminbird units automatically put an Encrypt folder on an unlocked memory card. It has nothing to do with GPS data or any other functions other than purchasing and downloading a Chart Select map. If you had the card unlocked you got that folder and all you have to do is remove the card, and re-insert it to load the GPS data. If you had locked the card, the unit would load the GPS data without writing the Encrypt folder to the card. If your unit uses the MicroSD card size, then you can't lock it and have to go through the two step process.

You didn’t mention if you scrolled to the the folder import files, if you did scroll then perhaps your SD card is too large or somehow not compatible. I use the smaller 4GB and 8GB cards

One more thing the method to load GPS data to a Helix/Number series unit is different than to an ONLIX/SOLIX/APEX. You have not stated what unit you have or what file/s were downloaded to the card.

What unit are you loading them into - Helix/Solix/numbers? Its been a while since I moved from Helix to Solix, but I remember that I had to run the data back through Humminbird PC to get the data needed to load into my Solix. I believe there are instructions with the purchase about this process.

I had this same problem when I tried to load boat lanes on my Solix. The problem was the lanes were in a folder on the card and the unit didn't recognize the lanes because the actual .gpx file was in a folder of it own. I just had to move the lane file out of the folder and it recognized it then. Hope this makes sense

Helix 9 G2N. I followed the instructions and added them to the sd card correctly to my knowledge. The instructions said to place the sd card in the unit after powering on and when I do so it just gives me the “sd card is encrypted” message. It doesn’t give the option to say yes to the Nav/GPS download like the instructional video has. I tried calling the number but went straight to voicemail.

Assuming these are Lance Vick Lanes, he will get back to you if you leave a message. I cant remember enough about the Helix to guide you here, good luck.

What part of removing the card and re-inserting it after the Encrypt message do you not understand? AND since the unit is a Helix, the data should be in a MATRIX folder. BEFORE you put the card in the unit the first time. THEN you should have two folders on the card AFTER the Encrypt message===MATRIX and ENCRYPT
