About 10 years ago there was a popular bluegill jig that had a specialized head and soft plastic bluegill attached. I can't think of the name and brand of it for the life of me. Anyone have a better memory than me? Thanks

It is a line-twisting son of a gun too!

I think a guy could take a Berkley Gilly and make a homemade version.

I concur, if you have the heads, the Berkly Gilly could be modified to fit this.

When the lateral perch came out I started making my own knockoff with a creme lil fishy. I caught a few on it and the action was surprisingly good. It would swim upright if you reeled it fast enough.

I remember footage of one of the Tawakoni tournaments where they said certain fish were caught on the lateral perch but the actual footage showed a plain 'ol lead head, skirt and zoom chunk trailer. Marketing baby!

I think that was the PAA event they had out there.

Yes, The Lateral Perch. Best Big Bass Lure ever developed. I have one, practically new, still in the package, if you would like to try one. I would hate to part with it, but would give it to you if you pay the $10.00 shipping. 😁
