Dak is a good leader.

He has great legs.

He makes good decisions.

All signs point toward a great work ethic.

BUT

Dak's accuracy throwing the ball is far from par for an NFL QB.

Dallas would have played in the Super Bowl in 2016 if Romo would have started when he came back in week 11. Prove me wrong.

Dak made a whole lot of 4-8 yard receptions that would have gone for 15-20 if the receiver didn't have to stop or dive to catch the ball. And that is still the case 5 years later.

Do you realize Dak is 5th all time in career accuracy. 5th out of all the QBs that have ever played.

Romo was not a SB winning QB. It's proven. He could not elevate a team to do it. That is a fact.

I get that you don't like Dak and nothing wrong with that but the facts show he is better than an average QB.

Romo was not a great QB.
In his era, Romo was almost as good as Donovan McNabb.

Early/mid 2000s. In order.
Brady
P Manning
A Rodgers
Roethlissberger
Brees
Carson Palmer
Kurt Warner
E Manning
Donovan McNaab
Tony Romo

Romo didn't want to point it out a bunch, but if you listened he said things like "ball was late" , "behind", "he could have ripped it there", "wide open" .......it's Dakota in a nutshell for the years I've watched every throw and said exactly those things....he's late because he doesn't know how to throw receivers open, he has to see them open and he doesn't have a plus arm.....none of this is new. Been screaming it since 2016

What clouds the issue is the raw stats don't show this. They show a completion, even though it was a little dunker where the receiver has to go to the ground to catch when it could have gone for 20 if he could catch it on the run.

one things for sure. With his contract, he IS your QB, so best accept it and try to move the other pieces around

Dak is not terrible, he just isnt great. Dak is never going to win the Super Bowl, BUT a team can win the Super Bowl with Dak. The issue is that it is going to take a more consistent team then Dallas has had in many years.

The issues yesterday were coaching/culture issues. Penalties, clock management, time outs, no real direction from the sideline it seemed.

Rodgers is living proof that you can be an insanely QB but still not lead a team to a pile of SB wins. That also shows just how tough it is to win a SB plus just how crazy good Brady really is.

Romo threw the ball downfield. He hit receivers in stride 20-25 yards past the line of scrimmage.

Two QBs throw for 300 yards in a game. Both throw 40 passes. One completes 25 of those throws for an average of 12 yards per completion. He is throwing numerous posts and other routes 15-25 yards downfield, but he only completes 63% of his passes. The other completes 32 for an average of 9.4 yards per completion. His throws travel an average of 4-8 yards downfield and his receivers run a few yards after the catch, but he completes 80% of his passes.

At the end of the day they both average 7.5 yards per attempt, but the yardage comes in different ways.

Which QB is stretching the defense more effectively and opening up the running game? I think it's obviously the QB who is taking shots down the field.

Season stats tend to strongly disagree with your conclusion.

Stats are for losers....watch the film....if you understand football at all you can see for every good throw there are 3 where the WR bailed him out....the "drops" people constantly bitch about? Where was the ball really? I've watched every throw....multiple times....he's the same guy he's always been

Aikman said the same things in a different way when he watches Dakota...."ball could have come out sooner" or something like that.....he's inconsistent with his feet, always has been

Clearly some of you knuckleheads didn’t pay attention to Joe in his last game at LSU. He came out with his last name spelled Cajun - BURREAUX - SMH at some of you guys.

It is the eye test, Romo looked the part, he could sling it, he had to throw the ball 40 plus times a game because he was their only chance of winning for several of his seasons.. Only way the Cowboys are going to win with Dak is build a great D, a great O line, and run the ball, if they can do that then they have a chance, otherwise this team in deep dodo for 5-6 more years.

Unfortunately I think my boy Dak May have hit his ceiling. I believe he’s a top 10 QB but definitely not elite. I love the guy, love his story, but I don’t know that he’s capable of being an elite guy like a Rigers, Brady, Burrow, Herbert, etc etc
