Dang it.. First time out this year was tournament on Whitney today (a little windy) and I caught a 2.36 lb large mouth on a spoon. First fish of the year and the first fish I ever caught on a spoon but no picture. Was so close to winning the tournament...I only needed 4 more keepers and 16 more pounds. Oh so close...!

Don't have a picture, but Thursday, I kayak fished in Aransas Pass and caught a 27" Redfish. No big deal. I fished a while longer and hooked up again. Big fish, If I hadn't been anchored, he would have pulled me all over the flats. Got him close to the yak, and he wrapped around my stringer with the 27", then around my paddle. I couldn't reel him in, so I hand-over-handed the line and drug him onto the kayak. It measured 32". Maybe it was a "her", but certainly my personal best. Wow! Shorts and t-shirt in the middle of January. C_R'd.
