Just got done with first on water test of new Echomap UHD with a GT54 transducer so still getting angle adjustments etc right so wasn’t expecting much yet but it seems I have a lot of “noise” in the side imaging. Not sure if it was turbulence/bubbles or electrical interference. Something that caught my eye on this short test was the voltage the Garmin was displaying over 17 volts at only 4mph. Is that right? This is an old 75hp Mariner motor that I replaced the Stator when I first got the boat. I haven’t had any other issues with anything electrical—that I’m aware of. My bow graph is also Garmin but voltage readings on that would have been with big motor off in past.

As far as physical transducer location/adjustment, I did raise it slightly after these pics.

How is the side clearance with the motor trimmed all the way down? Looks like your getting prop wash.

Eat. Sleep. Fish.

Yep, prop wash.

I will experiment with the tilt and see if I can improve that prop wash situation, otherwise I guess my next step would be moving the transducer further away from the prop ...which would be higher up on the transom, but ideally lower is best (?) Also, on the high voltage issue, it looks like I just have a rectifier only so I will go ahead and switch over to a Rectifier/Regulator combo to lower that voltage down.
