For me, I did not want pumps. No amount of customer service is going to get a stuck down power pole retracted in the middle of the lake. Talon is a 7/16 wrench or socket and it’s retracted. Poles can be pulled up using a rope

You’ll hardly find a power pole owner without zip ties…. For then the lines break or the pumps quit.

Talon is not as quite, as it’s electric motor driven it does produce some noise. Talons are actually quieter underwater where it matters. PP pumps noise is amplified by the hull

Power poles go back and down, you have to be mindful behind and below when you anchor, this has its own issues. Talons stick up, and can restrict the back deck angler some. Though I’ve never felt restricted when fishing with talons. A cursory smack every once in a while, no different than an outboard on the back deck.

It can go on and on. Bottom line is what do you want.

Because of the layout of my carport power poles were not going to work. The motor just clears in the back of it. So, I bought two 12' talons and put them on fold down brackets.
And that works great. And I do carry wrenches in my boat but to date have not needed them.
I really like them and also because the running light is mounted on top of the right one. No pumps. Everything just hooks up to the batteries. I use a controller on a lanyard to operate them.

Had both. Hydraulic issues with PowerPoles. Took them out and put on Talons. Been just fine.

Get a power pole my man, they will take care of you if something does happen. Give me a call if you have any questions, we can get one on the way and also have used options, my number is down below.

Seems like 80 % of the pros use the PP, maybe they are all sponsored by them. I am sure the Talon is a good unit, wonder why they decided to make a Raptor ? I have a tin boat that I am thinking about installing a Talon in, no room for the pumps.
