Mine will act crazy in the cold sometimes. It will give a flashing yellow light on one or two banks. Once it warms back up it charges fine. Only happens when it is well below freezing in my situation. For my situation it was most definitely not a battery issue. I actually talked to MInn Kota about this issue and it is a know issue to them on some of these chargers. I would also check to make sure you have it set for the proper type of battery. I can't remember the exact settings but you set it different for an AGM, wet cell, lithium, etc. It's clearly spelled out in the manual on how to set it for a different type of battery. It may very well be a bad battery but these are some other things to check. I replaced a battery a year or so back that was perfectly fine due a situation similar to yours.

I have a question. My starting batter was down due to me leaving a switch on and when I plugged in the charger, it would only put out 11.5 volts to the starting battery. 12.5 volts were at the trolling motor batteries. I let it charge for a few hours and it still showed 11.5 volts. I hooked up a portable charger to it and left it overnight and it was fully charged the next morning. Is the that bank going bad with it putting out only 11.5 volts ? Should I have left it hooked up even if it showed 11.5 volts to see if it would charge? Thanks for any help.

I have found that these chargers will not charge a battery that is completely depleted. They do not have the umph to get the battery started charging. What I do is use a portable charger to jump start the battery for about 30 minutes then hook up the onboard charger. They will usually take over from there and charge the battery.
