Hello,
My family and some friends are thinking in going to galveston one of the weekends in february, and I was wondering if you guys could help me with what areas to target(im not asking for spots but areas like surf, flats, rocky banks, jetties, piers, etc...) and what species are normally targeted in february and what kinds of bait to use.
no boat so we would be fishing from shore(willing to wade if its warm enough).
Thanks in advance for the help.

Plenty of YouTube videos to help but I'd mention these ideas:
There are two piers to choose from. Cheap and worth a try. At the far west end of the island, San Luis Pass is a good location for surf fishing.
Seawolf Park, a small entry fee and fishing fee, is popular for flounder, etc.
At the very west end of the seawall where it terminates (behind a large condo), a good place to stand on large granite blocks and cast there.
Several jetties up and down the seawall worth fishing in the rocks.
I suppose one of the best guides on the island would be Cody Dunn . . . if you want to pay for a day on his boat, catch a ton of flounder, etc.
I might make a ferry ride run over to Bolivar Peninsula. The ferry rides are free.
Best of luck! Brad
