So I have been working from home full time since Covid started 21 months ago. My company changed the policy to work 2 days in the office and the rest can be remote. I went in yesterday and today and was notified this afternoon that someone I was in close proximity to tested today and has covid.
I am all in on remote work for many reasons. I lose 2 to 2.5 hours of time a day when working in the office vs at home. I have been as healthy as I've ever been over the last 21 months. Now I get to wait and see what happens over the next day or two.

I have been work at home the last 21 months also. Did not want to do it but it has turned out pretty well.

I have been work at home the last 21 months also. Did not want to do it but it has turned out pretty well. My team has 8 and I spoke to 3 this morning and all of them preferred home. Efficiency and productivity is much better. The company will be in for a surprise when they see the numbers after a few months of this.

Several departments at the university have been on remote work since March 2020...but the majority are back at the office since August 2020. I don't get it. I know some people have to be onsite due to their position, but of the 17 of us in my department that are 'professional staff', only 7 (including myself) need to be there to do the job...the rest could easily be done online.

I’ve worked remote for the last 13 years. In my professional sales career I’ve never worked in an office. I could use an office fling

I don’t know how y’all work from home . I don’t think I’d get anything done and I’d probably be loaded by 10am every morning . And I am no social butterfly but I would be crawling the walls stuck at home all the time. And the temptation of just saying f it I’ll do it tommorow and doing something else would be so overwhelming.

Brent, are y'all still in the downtown office? Still there. Maybe the company feels bad for paying for office space that wasn't getting used. The home setup is 10x better. Better bathrooms at home. Better food options. Better health by a long shot.

Nice at home setup, that basement and tunnel though lol They've been dumping money into the building trying to revamp it over the last few years. Bank of America moved out, subway moved out. Floor 1 has been remodeled and now has a high dollar grocery store, coffee shop, and some other small bank.

I've done the extinguisher inspections at a few high rise buildings in downtown Dallas and Ft Worth and have been amazed at how many FLOORS in any given building are still empty for employees working from home.

All of them do. I can't imagine someplace like LA or Manhattan that has a ton of high rise buildings. I know companies are making the work at home thing work to their advantage and I think most employees have gotten used to it and are actually liking it and making it work to their benefit as well. There's no telling what is going to happen when those leases are up for renewal and the companies tell the landlord to go kick rocks.

People wouldn't have to live so close to the big cities either.
