I don’t know if it’s a mistake on HR’s part or not, but today is a mandatory day off. I’m off today! I already triaged my emails and was getting ready to start making calls and now, I don’t have to. What a great way to start the day!

They probably just need another day to complete the severance package they’re going to offer you.

That is what I have in mind, but it appears my wife is sick this morning. She hasn’t felt good all weekend, but this morning she has a real bad headache. For that matter I was pretty sick on Saturday but felt better on Sunday and feel like I have a bad cold today, so I wasn’t going to get much done anyway. I do have some brushpiles to sink, so maybe I will tell the wife I’m off to get her some medicine and maybe a Covid testing kit, but instead go buy some cinder blocks and a cube of Keystone and go sink some Christmas trees. It should make it up to 50 today and the wind is light, certainly getting out and doing something should be an option.

That would make my day! Many days I offer to quit for free, but if they will pay me to leave, I will take that deal all day long.

I came into work as well and quickly realized I was supposed to have the day off. Since my wife is off too and she already started yelling at me this morning, I am just going to stay at work and swap it for a vacation day I used last week.

Make sure you cut some pockets into the trees to allow the fish to get into the trees. It is also better if you can let them age so the needles fall off and the sap leeches out.

I’m glad you mentioned the pockets, I thought about doing that, but second guessed myself.

I went through my inbox and prioritized the big fires and the small fires. I even populated my task list to start getting stuff done, Then my boss sent me a message to make sure I knew we were off and I should take advantage of it. So here I sit, drinking coffee, waiting for it to warm up a bit before I go do things,
