I have fished from downtown Fort Worth to the water treatment plant. I’m getting my butt kicked. I have one gar so far. What am I doing wrong? I have fished with perch and shad and going to try and get a carp and try that. I’m fishing with my 2 kids that are young so want to try and stay in good areas

I have always caught blues and channels in the area just below the Ft Worth Zoo on the trinity. Typically, shad has been bait of choice. Cut shad has been best with a spray of DEAD RED catfish attractant.
