Officially "The Office" at Pier 121 Marina will close down on March 31. 2022. That's when our current lease ends.
The marina has made it clear that fishermen are not welcome there.
I have decided to keep my boat for the time being but will move it to another Marina on Lewisville. I will no longer sell fishing memberships like we did for 20 years. New office will be for my family and friends use only.
The old Office concept was fun and I made a lot of good friends sharing with all of you. To all of the current members continue to fish the slip until April first, I plan too.
There is still a lot of good cover in the slips, you just can't see the hangers any more.
Good fishing.

I fished several hours there yesterday morning, although I got there late, and only caught two. I think the full moon is throwing the feeding schedule off.

This is one of the worst years that I've seen at 121 in a while, my group is leaving there as well.

![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/12/full-52-122532-old_slip_cover.jpg) This is the cover left in the office slip. Plenty to hold fish. They just don't seem to be there.

The marina is getting pretty aggressive in getting rid of all fishermen. Word is that no fishing will be allowed in the marina at all after April first. I don't know if that is true or not. They are limiting access cards to 4 per slip and are saying the slip owner must be present when anyone is at the slip.
I have already moved my boat to another marina. If any of my slip members have anything in the locker at the slip I recommend that you take it home asap while you can still get in the marina.
They said they want to upgrade the Marina clientele. I guess they consider fishermen "low class".
After more than 30 years fishing there I hate to see "the Office" close but that's life,

We should all pull up there in our boats and anchor out from the slips a little way....it's still public water

They have a very long waiting list of wakeboard boats waiting to get in on that marina. They can raise the price after you are gone and fill the spot lickity split... They could care less about any contract from previous management.

Thank you for your many years of friendship and mentoring, Ernest. I am delighted that I moved back to Ray Hubbard where I can have guests without paying for parking, real bathroom and shower, a service center that will repair my 20 year old boat, and a variety of good places to eat that i can boat right up to. And my slip is nearly half the price. Happy to trade an additional 15 minutes of extra driving for the 15 minutes I save walking to my slip. My slip is 20 feet from my parking. Come visit anytime. What would it cost to build your own slip? Setup with X number of guys paying X number $$$$ and no one could tell you to pick up your ball and go home. I would think that there would be plenty of fishermen that would be interested in owning a part of a fishing slip.

All fishermen are leaving, no fishing will be allowed in the boat slips, not sure how they police that, but that's what they're stating. They've also turned off peoples access cards already, you're only allowed four per slip.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !
