I had the very first version of motorguide's remote control troller and it was a POS. Since then I've had nothing but minnkota and had no issues at all, but never one with GPS anchor. the trouble with buying a used boat is getting whatever equipment is on the thing rather than picking your stuff. I have a line on a really clean boat with lowrance graphs which i prefer to humminbird, but it has motorguide's i5 on the front which scares the hell outta me.

so, those of you with an i5 please tell me its a good troller or confirm my worries that it is garbage.

thanks y'all!

I didn't lose him at the boat. I shook him off cause I didn't want my hands to get "fishy"

Take it off, sell it and install a Lowrance Ghost. You'll be a happy fish

I know only one who has an i5 and outside of the gps he really liked it, the gps wasn’t accurate but the motor was solid

I’ve been an Ultrex owner since day one, I’d be interested in trying a ghost. Can’t be worse. Haha.

I have a Motorguide Xi5 on my BassCat that's been exemplary for the two years I've owned it. Foot control is a POS, so I use the fob exclusively. Spot lock works perfectly and is much quieter than the MinKota.

+1 on the Xi5 Love the Pinpoint GPS capabilities makes navigating to my way points a piece of Cake! Anchor system is great dependant on the amount of thrust model you purchase for your boat. Minn Kota may be more popular than MG I have No problem with mine. IMHO
coolio

You all shave your opinion. I have buddies that have all of the above. All of them have had some type of issues.
I researched TM's for months, watched videos talked to a lot of people. Wanted one with GPS strictly for crappie fishing. Went with the Motor guide Tour Pro. Could not be happier. You might want to take a look. They got this one right.
