Always liked seeing wife’s face when that happens

That’s a big no no.

They are using the horns for chandeliers and knife handles, including the game wardens.

Nevermind just read up on it. That’s crazy too cuz there was an electricians van scalping one in between NW high school and Texas motor speedway just the other day right in the middle of traffic!!

Hwy 190 between Menard and Eldorado is like a minefield when its dark. I believe the right of way was finally mowed but you couldnt see a deer until it reached the pavement! Lots of carcasses!

Seems worse during the full moon. Seems also lots of smaller bucks during the rut, guess young equates to stupid.

I've seen a lot more than usual... but not nearly as many hogs this year.

Sure there are high fence ranches where are a lot of deer are bought and killed, lack of access to land at a low price is a thing of the past.

Most people here, can’t afford to hunt anymore.

When I moved to Alabama, I had 65,000 acres to hunt a little over an hour from my house for the low price of $45. Unfortunately after the first year, my back and knees told me I needed to find another sport.

Deer apocalypse? We saw what appeared to be one right outside of WF in early December. 5 dead (one very large buck) in about 3-4 miles.

If landowners didn't think these things were worth $3,000 a gun per season we might be able to have a better control on the population.
And once we have a better control on the population, we would probably have a much higher quality deer that actually has enough meat on it making it worth the effort to harvest.

they did a survey of body shops in my area of southwest Georgia a few years ago and 38% of their business came from collisions with deer.....I try to avoid driving on state and county roads after dark because of the danger of hitting a deer and the heavily traveled highways are not much better....

People pay it so they are worth it. The problem isnt the landowners. When I was a kid in the early 80s a guy shot a 130 something inch 10 point and the damn newspaper came out and took a picture and did a story. Now we let 150 inch deer walk. The herd is in outstanding shape. I hunt low fence by the way. The problem is the hunters shooting places out. Shooting every deer with horns, having every relative they have show up and blast away at every baby deer that has an inch of horns on its head. Hell they shoot them off the nipple. They want to pack 10 hunters on 500 acres then wonder why the hunting sucks. If it's brown it's down.
