I never understood the draw to fishing purely by electronics. Today I had an occasion to try it out. I pretty much wore out the fish on my usual lake and my arm along with them. So to take a break I just vertically jigged my bait down below my transducer.

Super fun! Watching my bait on the screen and raising or lowering to put it in their face was addicting. I almost didn't go back to casting.

For those of you that fish this way often, do you have any tips or suggestions? Maybe specific settings on my Garmin sonar or rigs/techniques to do this most successfully?

There's tons of video's on Youtube that discuss Garmin Settings. The one thing about Garmin Livescope is that you will constantly be changing the settings based on the water conditions and clarity. It's not a set it and forget about it type unit. The ability to change the settings is actually one of the benefits to the unit.. allows you to dial it in to get the best picture.
