After all the work and trouble I went to catching bait yesterday, I wanted to soak a few of them today. Glad I did. El Gato Azul called me and while we were talking my #4 rod got smoked. It was a 31 pounder. Chris, you can call me any time I'm on the water... Great fish!
FYI… NO pattern for these shad…
Found a huge bait ball in the strangest part of the lake. These were in the middle of the lake east of the island and no structure and in wide open water! They were in 35 FOW from the popping at the surface to about 12’. I just saw a couple birds sitting on the water. Went over to check it out, 6-7” shad. I actually caught one on a Cotton Cordell slab!
