How often do you use it? I've been driving a 2x for a few years, but I've had my share of 4x and when younger, found reasons to low lock. Now, I just stay out of those situations. Past 4x4 include 2 jeep cherokees, I know don't count, a Dodge Ramcharger, a couple of Z71s and a Ford F150. I just wonder how many people use their truck like a work truck and are even willing to put their rigs in a situation where they need it.

Mine gets used probably 50 times a year but I avoid mud, not worth the cleanup. Usually a rough boat ramp or incline on wet grass to avoid messing the grass up

The best one is an ugly one. Had a 79 bronco that was a beast.

At the ranch all low spots are pretty much 4x4 when it rains. I try and drive the mule around as much as I can but it’s still fun to go rut up the roads and blame it on someone else.

I use the electric locking differential offered in certain Ford packages. Only good for very low speeds but very useful.

Between the Deer lease, a few boat ramps and icy conditions I'll always have one, it's not an option I can go without.

All the time, at the deer lease or boat ramp.

Thanks, Billy

add slick/slimy ramp to that as well. We use 4x on occasion at in-laws ranch too especially on the slick rocky part.

I’ve owned many 4x4’s since 1984, and lived in many states since then. It’s great peace of mind to have it when you need it (rarely perhaps based on where you live and your driving habits) than need it and not have it. I’ve been in many situations where I couldn’t move my vehicle in 2X either forward or in reverse. However, a 4x4 doesn’t make one omnipotent to the conditions - especially ice. I’ll never not own a 4x4 vehicle though.

Up here in the panhandle you can bet on a couple snow storms every year.

Current truck does not have it. 3 trucks before did. I never used it a ton but did use it on a couple of ramps, towing in heavy rain and bad weather on some trips. Next truck I’m definitely getting it again.

Next truck is going to be a F350 Suoerduty Diesel for pulling a 5Th wheeler. Possibly could be a Dodge too.
