What a great day. I have been off the water for a while, I know I whined about it before I left... Anyway, Wyatt and I got out before the sun today. Took some time to catch bait. Don't know if it was the moon being so bright or what but it was a struggle. Finally got enough to get started and I was exhauster from throwing the cast net. Went east and started a drift that ended up lasting all day. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/12/full-115968-122069-screenshot_2021_12_22_165719.png) The drift was about 3 miles. I started about 9:00am and pulled the last rod about 2:00pm We were running steady about .5 or .6. When the wind came up we would go .7 when it would slack off we were at .4 but pretty consistent drift. First hour was slow but after that the action picked up and was steady about 4 fish an hour. Ended up with 3 or 4 eaters and 8 overs. Smallest over was 11 pounds. Lots of teeners and a 24 for big fish of the day. Easy day just catching fish on one long drift. Didn't have to pull up and move all day. Surface temp was 56 degrees. Wind was good. Kept us below .7 all day. Bait was some cut and some small shad. 3" and they did the job. Got the 24 on a half of a 3' shad! ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/12/full-115968-122070-img_2884.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/12/full-115968-122071-img_2886.jpg) Good day today. Might get a chance to try again tomorrow. GB & TL...

Great job Tim. It was a beautiful day today. My friend that lives in Lavon was texting me today saying we should be on the water. Haha. I guess he was right.
I might try to go Sunday. He wants to try Lavon but Twok is calling my name. I have only trophy fished Lavon 1 time but I might have to try it again very soon.

Nice one, Tim!
I dream about days like that, one loooong drift.
I was planning to go tomorrow, but my boss at home has 1001 other things to do.

I forgot to mention that it was a true winter pattern. All fish were caught between 30 and 40 feet of water. Big fish was in 37 feet which is deep for Lavon, especially since it is 4 foot low right now.

Thatโs a victory Tim! All my buddies that fished yesterday did about the same. I thought the big fish were going to really turn on but I guess itโs going to be January this year. Hate to see those 80ยฐ days leading up to Twok. Looks like weโll be fishing shallow when we head there next week buddy.

Nice work Tim. Sounds like a GREAT day.
Interesting that the fish were in the winter pattern... your surface temps were down a little - I was seeing 61-62 last Friday and Sat. morning. It did cool off some after that. Hope they will stay in a pattern!
Going to be a few days before I try them, got to do some of the Christmas thing!
God Bless you all - good luck where ever you are fishing, and post!
Merry Christmas all.
