I have a G1 solix at my console and up until recently had a G1 solix at the front. I recently replaced the one at the front with a G3 solix and it came with a transducer. Would it benefit me to change the transducer or does it make any difference?

Yes, it's a better transducer, longer imaging elements inside the transducer along with better 2d hw low q performance for chirp sonar

Just FYI for anyone who may read this thread in the future, i learned the hard way. The G1 unit would not read the transducer that came with the G3 unit. I may be doing something wrong, but i couldn’t get it to work. Had to re-install the old transducer. At least now I have the new transducer installed when I upgrade the console unit.
