I'm 5 year away from 55. All I use is self checkout. I'll only go inside if it's just a couple items. I get in, I get out. We click list our weekly grocery orders. She started doing that since the lockdowns. It's awesome. The less people I have to deal with the better. She orders it, I swing by and pick it up on the way home.

Your age is a little low....I'll go 65 maybe....what you should be complaining about is women with children using self checkout!!!

I hate the self-checkouts. About a year ago they more than doubled the self check units at the Kroger I shop and guess what, some of the cashiers that I had seen there for a while suddenly were gone, along with their salaries and benefits. I always use a real person.

Family is everything!

Life is precious. We don’t have forever. We have now. This moment. We can choose to love our lives now.

I prefer self checkout and do not use the store order picking/delivery. Many of the youngsters on here would not remember the days before UPC bar code scanning when the cashier had to manually punch in each and every price now that was slow.

This is the right answer. Logic would dictate that people using self checkout should get a discount because we are helping the store reduce their cost.

We could easily fix this if we didn't allow anyone under 55 to vote. Look what the young idealists put in the Whitehouse on the last election.

I use it exclusively where they are available. And I am quick and efficient at age 74 actually. Home Depot may be the best since some hardware has to be put in by the attendant. I have not used a cashier at WM in many years. Some convenience stores like Pilot now have self checkout-thank goodness!

I always liked it when the mules and wagon would pull up in the summer with big ole blocks of ice, then the milkman would drop off a couple of bottles of whole milk.

and y'all yunguns think you invented grocery delivery. HAH! olds win again.

Yesterday I ended up in the self-check line at Sam's Club with about 8 items. 2 olds ahead of me. We all organized our barcodes for easy access and was in and out before the 2 20 somethings beside us who had their noses buried in their phones. Typical Dummy yungs.

I love self checkout. I can scan my items and bag it up quicker than the snot nosed, tatted up, body pierced, orange/green/blue/pink haired punks that sound like they have a total of 3 brain cells. Furthermore, some places, like Sam's, have the Flo Price Tool which is fun to use. It took me a while to get my wife to use self checkout but now she likes it unless they only have a small area to place all of your items after they were scanned. She gets pretty mad about that.
