Here's the pictures from a couple other posts I've made, some of the multiple species we've been catching lately, including Largemouth Bass, White Bass, Hybrids, Spotted Gar, Smallmouth Buffalo, Channel Catfish, Redear Sunfish, and Freshwater Drum. Nice-sized Largemouth: Little river hybrid: Buffalo: My Gar: Jeff's Gar: Bret got some nice largemouth and whites today, and also a really big drum, maybe he will post his pictures as well.

That's very cool! You guys catch some great fish. I gotta get out to some places other than local ponds. I love catching a variety of fish.

Here are a couple more shots from today. the second one is a reminder of the August roadrunner only contest on txfishes.com. It is free, and you can win a giftpack from Blakemore.

I can't find a part of the river that is calm enough and doesn't have a lot of [censored] on the bottom. is there a road nearby where you fish starless?

Starless, I see you catch a lot on white roadrunners. How do you fish them most? Just cast and real 'em in or jig off the bottom etc. I like them too, just curious since you catch so many different species on them. Thanks

It was a channel, just a weird angle for the photo.
As far as the retrieve on the roadrunners, I've found that a different retrieve works for different fish.
Use your knowledge there, think about where in the water column different species of fish live, and how different species like to feed.
*then* join the roadrunner contest at txfishes.com and see what sort of damage you can do in the contest

Cisco, there are some parts of the Elm Fork with a road very nearby, such as the Hebron Bridge area, and the Sandy Lake spillway area.
But we had to hike a very long way, and crawl up muddy embankments just to find this spot lol. It sucked, basically, but the fish we caught made it worth while.
Bret's fish was definitely a channel, he just stuck the camera in it's face lol.
Slider - Yeah, I love the White Roadrunner. Bret prefers a chartreuse with a white body, and I like that color combo as well.
Bret's also right about the various retrieves. We seem to catch whites on one retrieve, more of a steady retrieve, buffalo on a slow retrieve, and largemouth on a spastic retrieve.
Like Bret said, you have to think about where the fish are, and what sort of action tends to cause them to strike.
