Hey y'all I know some of y'all like to work with your wood in the confines of your garage. I'm looking for a heater to decently heat a 20x20 garage. Since I have sawdust flying around (I do have a dust collector but there's still a ton of small particles floating around), the heater can't be reactive to combustibles. Would rather not have to have an electrician install it either. What you got?

I use a 220 volt electric heater. It hangs from the ceiling a does a pretty good job. My workshop is 12 x 20.

Does that matter to you? Great question. I won't be able to vent it.

go get 2 electric radiators, about 100.00 at wally world. plug them in opposite corners and enjoy. I use one to heat my trailer at fork, 27' and it keeps it nice once things are warmed up. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Oil-Heat...j3y_fuIU5oaAlEIEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

Does that matter to you? I’ve been using a propane patio heater in my shop for years. Like 20+. It is the saw-dustiest place you’ve ever seen. I have even had to blow the saw dust off the heater several times. While is lit and on high. Y’all way over think the dangers in this world.

I'm with Hop on this one. Our well head and pressure tank are in my shop and last year during the big freeze, I built a tent around all the well equipment and put a radiator in there. worked like a charm, we had running water and nothing exploded.

Costco has radiant heaters for $80. Uses 1/3rd of the electricity of traditional space heater. I got one and it works well but haven’t tried it in the garage yet.

I have a very similar heater as these. I only have one in my garage and sometimes I have to turn it off.

Good way to die of CO poisoning if the room doesn’t have enough air flow. One thing is you will never know it’s happening. Been using propane in my garage since I can remember. Garage doors aren't usually sealed very well. You get plenty of air flow. Propane gets really hot and heats faster imo. But if this were a daily thing, I would go electric to avoid the hassle and expense of replacement bottles.

Boss has a cool solution . He has one of those diesel torpedoe heaters in his tool shed (that is attached to the shop )on a top shelf ,cut a whole in the wall of his shop and ran a duct system from that hole out over the shop . He even tried to put those little blower/booster fans in the duct but it melted the plastic blades almost instantly 🤣🤣🤣 Those torpedo heaters are great just to sit in the shop with you with the doors closed Down side is if you have company you’ll be screaming over the noise like you were at a concert .

Maybe I'm typing this as a ghost?
