Definitely. I like to start the day without a nibble on my jig and then add them if the bite seems slow. I have seen a 100% difference between a skunk and a limit using crappie nibbles on some days.

IMO, its a confidence thing. Crappie are visual feeders and scent is not important. If putting a nibble on a jig gives you more confidence, by all means. Presentation matched with the correct profile jig can be a deadly combination.

get the berkleys!! white, chartruese, pink and silver sparkle , gold or chartruese sparkle are all good options. dont leave the lid of in the sun, they will dry up on ya!

Went to Choke Canyon and found some brush piles with Side Scan. I have to say I could not get a bite without the jig tipped with a fish bite. The brush piles had a few fish and were not loaded like I had hoped but I did catch enough for a fish fry. While fishing I had my jig in the middle of the pile when I got a bite. I set the hook and I saw a huge fish come out of the pile (Live Scope) and it swam straight up to the surface. I hooked a huge Buffalo (Carp) and it tail walked like a tarpon. I would guess it was over 25 lbs. I was using 4 lb. test line and fought it for five minutes back reeling in open water and I thought I had her. At the boat the lure just pulled out of her mouth and she swam away!
In summary, I am a believer in the Fish Bites! Thanks guys. Cheers

Scent most definitely plays a BIG part in getting bit on those tough days..... Those that don't use scent also don't tell all the skunks they have.... Point Blank Period.....
If you don't want to accept thinking "they just didn't bite" use scent on tough days....

Like jig color and scent, it doesn't matter...until it does.
IMHO, on action retrieve not so much. Seems to make more of a difference (if needed) on dead sticking/slower movements.

I used them on the bridges at lake Graham/Edelman. Would use them when they werent biting and 75 percent of the time it worked.
