 Sunnies & A Limit of Rainbow Trout !

Had a great week of fishing this past week. Fished creeks and hill country rivers. Caught some nice Redear, Bluegill, a couple of nice LMB, and ended my week with a limit of Rainbow Trout. The Redear, Bluegill, and bass were caught using the "Bait of Champions" worms, and the trout were caught with a Gold Super Duper Lure and Berkley Trout Bait, Yellow in color. All of the fish were released with the exception of the trout. They will be heading to the smoker! Catching some late fall Redear, Bluegill, bass, and Rainbow Trout. Thanks Steve. The Redear are still pretty active. These mild cold fronts are making them frisky.

Thanks Yesenia and Doc for the replies. Yesenia: The Redear bite has been holding up all year. The bite will slow down after the first "MAJOR" cold front blows through. Doc: A friend of mine has a smoker and smokes them for me. I know he uses Oak chips and he marinates them a few hours before he puts them in his smoker. They turn out great. They go good with Ritz Crackers, Tabasco Sauce, and a ice cold Modelo Beer!  Will get you the recipe.

We've been smoking our trout for years. Nothing fancy, trout, a little old bay seasoning and lemon slices. Post oak works well but we have also used apple wood and cherry wood and they all turn out great. Great looking trout Banker

I agree with BigJoe... Cherry or Apple for my fish of the smoker type haha. Lemon Pepper, Lemon slices and a touch of Dill in a tinfoil boat. 110%
