For black and white crappie caught from DEC. 1 through the last day of FEB., there is no minimum length limit and all crappie caught must be retained.

If y’all caught bigger fish it wouldn’t be an issue. LOP was good today. Took home 11 in two hours. Had a 15.75” that weighed exactly 2 lbs!!!

Is there just a ton of little Crappie ? I have never been to fork No, quite the opposite. The fish are so deep from DEC 1st through FEB that alot die from the pressure change of being brought up. TPWD wants to not have a ton of undersized fish wasted and allows you to keep them during this time. By law, it is illegal to throw back any fish during this time.
