Going to try Grapevine for the first time on Thursday. Do certain areas of the lake tend to hold smallmouth better than others? Not looking for spots just general info.

The dam. The rocky little bluffs on the south side. Deeper rocky points.

Dropshot with a finesse worm or a Berkley flat worm worked well. No big ones, but you'll get tired of catching them.

You canโ€™t target smallmouth out there.. right now, that bite is dead. Post spawn is best time to target them and there are some good ones

North east part of the dam. It's like a unicorn on GV, i have caught about 6 and I have been fishing it 3-4 days a week for two years.

Only tip i will give you is, if you can get up early (4am) get on the water. The bite before sunrise is good.
