Yeah. I am a cheapass. I didn’t want to spend the money for wider carpet and my boat bilge lid is wider than a BC The lid in the back kinda set the tone, as it was 6’ across the top and so was the carpet. I had to turn it 90 to get a 6’6” length of carpet….so went the rest of the boat.

Let’s face it…it still looks better than a BassCat. I could have put it on upside down and still had a prettier boat.

Nothing unusual in this posters case… we are accustomed to it.
It does look like a good job. We also have more inventory in the 7’ carpeting if you want it. Most just splice, though the grain sideways does often save money in less scrap, we just can’t do that ourselves.

Eh. I’m just messing with ya. BassCats are phenomenal boats. We all know that. I just hate on y’all because they’re out of this guys price range for now. Someday I’ll have one of the big ones with a big ol V8 merc.

But yeh…doing the carpet with 6’ wide roll saved me about $400. I bought the carpet from a wholesaler that my work has an account with. They had 8-1/2’ wide carpet, but not the color or texture I wanted. So I saved a few bucks, added the Pro Tec padding, and 5 gallons of glue. I only spent $480 on everything. I think the wide carpet from an online source would have been over $500 alone. Then the padding was $180 and glue $130.

So…THE REAL QUESTION BCB…since my carpet is 90 degrees to how a BassCat is done, do I stand with my left foot forward now, or my right foot? Which way catches more fish?

At least Bass Cat never built the worst bass boat ever built by anyone at any time.
