 2008 Mercury 200 Optimax oil reserve tank leaking

I have replaced the reserve oil tank twice. The bottom tube connection keeps cracking. On the current one it's not cracked but still leaks. I replaced the tie strap with a metal screw clamp and it stopped leaking for a few days. Now it's leaking again. I'm thinking the hose is old and not flexable enough to seal even with a clamp. Anyone ever had this issue and how did you fix it. TIA

I would not use screw clamps on plastic , I would replace hose and make sure you not crack nipple. if any questions PM me
