I noticed some nice looking water while driving over a bridge yesterday a few miles East of Hondo. I was curious which river that is and if there is public access there, it looked like great fishing water.

The Medina river runs through Castroville. I don't know of any steady flow that runs through Hondo.

Hondo Creek, Verde Creek, Sabinal River (Southwest of Hondo), just to name a few spots. thumb

Side Note: The places I listed are posted no trespassing and you need land owner permission to be on their property. The land owners who have those water bodies flowing through their property will file charges on anyone violating the law. "Get Permission" plain and simple. cheers

Side Note: There is public access to the Sabinal River. Utopia City park. coolio The place you are talking about just outside of Hondo is private property. eeks
