What's up yall. I'm an SMU student working on a project involving fishing line disposal in DFW since I hadn't seen too many of the recycling bins within the metroplex. I've made a FB page with their locations I've put up so far (https://www.facebook.com/North-Texas-Bin-Project-110413597954895). Keep your eyes peeled for them if you fish at California Crossing or up in Carrolton. I'm trying to cut down on the amount of line I see left behind at the banks.

Great idea!

Too bad I don't have Facebook. I'd like to check them out.

I like your idea. I also do not use Facebook so I have no way of following your progress. If you do return here to read comments I do have a few questions. If I use the common blue recycle dumpster that most if not all cities offer their residence does the line get recycled? Is the line your collecting for recycling get specifically repurposed? If you place bins is stores like Academy, Bass Pro, and Walmart should I not use the blue residential recycle bin and take it to the store instead? Grocery stores have plastic bag recycle bin by their door that are always full meaning, returning those bags is a common practice. Maybe you could model your store idea around an already known and accepted method of collection used for grocery bags. Those are repurposed for bags again, that's why I'm asking about the line. Keep up the good work, you'll find a lot of support here.

Joe has a good idea here... Recycle bins at retailers will bring people to the store, which means they are much more likely to allow one on their property.

There's one at the Frasier Dam Recreation Area, is that one of yours? I fish that area frequently and appreciate the fact that there is one there now!
