I have this 9 foot 6wt graphite that I bought the handle segment and the first segment with the stripper guide don’t snug up tight dot to dot, this rod has a graphite ferrule that extends from the handle segment “male” that inserts into the next segment . can I just sand this a bit to close the segment? So it fits snugger closer to a dot to dot match? Currently a gap of .25 .50 ish.
I will be back. I'm never truly gone.....Last post by Brad RIP

If this is a spigot ferrules rod they don’t touch. There should be a gap

The dots are only for alignment not a depth gauge, If the section stays in while casting you should be good. If not, there are other problems to look for.

For a spigot ferrule rod that is the proper gap. Over the years of use it might narrow, but should never reach the point that the sections are touching with no gap.
