Just came back from our second trip to Panama's Tuna Coast -- and it was just as good as the first one. Not as many popper fish, but average size was better (40-70 lbs vs 20-40 lbs the first time) with several over 100# and one over 200#. Plus roosterfish, mahi, cubera and other species.

Thanks to all who commented on my first post earlier this year. We're already planning to head back in '22. Let me know through a PM if you'd like info.

Pete

The trip was a little over 5k. That includes flights inside Panama, VIP reception at the airport, one night at the Hilton, all food/drink, 4.5 days of fishing, lodging on the island, daily laundry.

Certainly not inexpensive, but it is really three trips in one: inshore fishing, tuna popping and billfish options.

The above figure does not include international airfare, tips (came to about 600 per person, but of course they are discretionary), and any personal expenses in Panama City. Oh, we also had to pay for a COVID test to get back into the US.

Happy to answer any more questions you might have. We're headed back in November -- it is our new addiction.

Is the 5k number per person?? Say if four people would be going...
Thank for posting such great photos.

Yes, that was our per person price with a group of 8 in November. You could do it for a little bit less without the VIP program (do it on your own in Panama City) or without the extra half day of fishing on the front end.
It's certainly not inexpensive but it's really three trips in one -- tuna, billfish, inshore.

Feel free to PM me if you have questions.
