Let’s talk a little technique… I’m curious to hear how you all attack fishing submerged bridges and if your game plan changes when it’s an 8’ deep bridge versus a 20’ deep bridge.
I typically set up perpendicular to the bridge a little off to one side, and cast across the channel trying to bring my bait back as close to the bridge as possible. I’ll work both sides like this making several repeat casts to any rock or concrete I feel on the bottom. My plan of attack doesn’t change with depth, just heavier weights. Aside from watching the fish on livescope, how do you like to attack this structure?

I like to throw my crank bait or worm across the bridge. So i can bring it up and over both side rails. But there have been times I couldn't get bit unless i was casting on top of the bridge parallel with the direction it was going. But my best success has been the reaction bite when casting across the bridge. Having live scope now, there's times can catch some suspended fish off the side.

I've caught a boat-load of fish of the Birch Creek bridge on a deep crankbait. The guard rails are about 16 feet down. If you don't hit them with the bait you don't get bit. You can drag a jig or C-rig over it too but I've caught bigger fish on the big crank.

Toss a crankbait at it till I get hung up and break it off. Toss a swimbait till I get hung and break off. Toss a jig and worm till I get hung and break off.

I like the Railroad bridges over highway bridges, because of the abundant rock and the size of the rock that is placed on the ends and along the old tracks. The slopes are always much steeper. Not many of them are left in tact because of the height of the tresses above the bridge. If you do find one in tact out in deeper water it will be a goldmine.

I will have to experiment with a 6Xd, 8XD, DD22 , River to Sea, and the deep Spro.

I have fished football style jigs on bridges but haven't cranked them, yet.

I might have to try out some soft plastic swim baits on the sunken bridge also.

xd 8 or 10 depending on depth, bounce the bottom or real close to it, parallel to the bridge and cover both sides and top.

carolina rig at 12-18" with an 8-10" worm or large fluke, if less than 20' a 3/8 oz. over 20 3/8 or 1/2 oz.

I just got some river to sea water dogs that I want to try here on fork on some of the bridges and pond dams in deeper water.

We were fishing a submerged bridge on Fork, cranking a 6 XD and I hung a nice slot. As I boat flipped it, she came off, fell in the boat but it slung that 6 XD and hooked my wife in the arse! Didn't hook her bad but was funny as heck!

I have caught alot of fish off this bridge as well, have also left my share of XD10's and flutter spoons on it.
